Making two foster houses feel like home

Santa Fé Beneficent Association
Sao Paulo, Brazil

THE ORGANIZATION

The Santa Fé Beneficent Association has been dedicated to promoting social justice in Brazil for over 30 years. Its mission is focused on supporting vulnerable children and adolescents, especially those affected by neglect, abuse, and poverty. The organization works to implement the Child and Adolescent Statute, combat various forms of violence, and break the cycles of disadvantage. It is committed to creating environments where children and adolescents can grow, heal, and reach their full potential.

The association operates residential care centers that provide safe, nurturing environments for children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 who have been temporarily separated from their families due to the inability of parents or guardians to care for them. Through its programs—ranging from institutional care and family support to aftercare and assistance to families—the organization aims to promote long-term positive change and ensure a healthy, sustainable reintegration into society.

The project

Kids First has funded significant improvements to the residential care centers managed by the Santa Fé Beneficent Association. These upgrades include the purchase of freezers, refrigerators, and new furniture for bedrooms, game rooms, play areas, and TV rooms. Additionally, the association’s library has been enhanced with new bookshelves and stocked with educational materials, creating a more enriching environment for the children. Cultural Care staff members from the São Paulo office collected book donations from current and former au pairs, as well as other staff members, to contribute to the library’s collection.

These upgrades have created a more home-like atmosphere, offering a safe, supportive, and stimulating space where children and adolescents can heal, grow, and thrive.
